Jupiter Federal Bridge
August 18, 2023 UPDATE
The contractor has collaborated with the Town of Jupiter to perform nighttime work in August and September to try to advance the US 1 Jupiter Bridge construction schedule. The nighttime operations will allow the contractor to increase their pile driving production so that they can complete that operation before season starts in October. The contractor plans to begin nighttime operations, as needed, the week of Aug. 21. They will not be driving pile at night.
FDOT is sensitive to the impact this project has on surrounding stakeholders and to the Town of Jupiter’s noise ordinance. The contractor is permitted to perform work within FDOT Right of Way with no time restrictions. FDOT and the project team’s goal is to accommodate and be good partners to adjacent residents and businesses by doing everything we can to minimize construction impact; they will continue to work with surrounding residents and stakeholders to ensure that this process is as smooth as possible.
Bridge Closure Starts March 13, 2023
The bridge will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians for approximately 20 months. Traffic will be detoured to Alternate A1A. Access to adjacent properties and businesses will be maintained. Navigation through the channel will be maintained for marine traffic. Channel restrictions may occur.
In preparation for the closure, single lane closures in both directions will occur on US 1 between CR A1A and Alternate A1A/Beach Road beginning at 10 p.m. on March 12. In addition, law enforcement will direct traffic at the intersection of US 1 and Alternate A1A beginning at 10 p.m. on March 12.
