Mission Statement

To provide and maintain safe and quality government facilities, public grounds and rights-of-way for the Village, as well as to maintain, improve, and expand existing public facilities to meet citizens’ needs, and to continue to improve the quality of life by beautifying the Village through landscape projects.

Services, Functions, and Activities


The Public Works Department provides general maintenance for Village roadways, pathways, buildings, rights-of-way, medians, and signage. The maintenance is provided by Village staff and through contractual services. The Department has an annual program to asphalt overlay the Village streets. New landscaping is added annually through Capital Improvement projects.

Yard Waste Pickup Temporary Schedule Change

  • The Solid Waste Authority's North County Transfer Station in Jupiter will close for repairs on June 6 for 3 weeks
  • Waste Management will pick up yard waste 1 HOUR EARLY (6:00AM) to offset the additional time needed to travel to the SWA disposal facility
  • The temporary schedule change is for YARD WASTE ONLY
  • There are NO changes to regular garbage or recyclables pickup

Shred Events

Shred events are held twice a year (April and October) in coordination with Coffee with a Cop. Visit the website calendar to view Village events.

Curbside Pickup

Tequesta has a curbside garbage, yard waste, and recycling collection services, provided through Waste Management, for single-family homes, as well as pick-up services for multi-family dwellings.

  • Monday(except from Windsor Road south - including Seabrook yours will be on Friday)

Please have items at your curb by 7:00 a.m. Arrangements can be made for large item pick-up--Call Waste Management at 772-546-7700. There will be no collection on the following holidays: Thanksgiving and Christmas. Collection will take place on the next regularly scheduled pick-up day.

  • Automotive products: antifreeze, fluids, motor oil, oil filters, gasoline, polish and waxes
  • Batteries: home and vehicle batteries
  • Electronics: TVs, computers, laptops, cell phones, printers, fax machines, MP3 players, DVD/CD/cassette players and more
  • Fluorescent light bulbs and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL)
  • Mercury containing devices: thermometers and thermostats
  • Paint products: oil-based, latex and spray paints, caulk, wood preservative and wood stain
  • Garden chemicals: pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer and insecticides
  • Sharps: syringes, needles and lancets
  • Swimming pool chemicals
  • Other household chemicals: toilet bowl cleaner, shower/tile cleaner, carpet cleaner, rust remover and more
